Owls By Day -  Mike & MerryLynn Denny

 

What a spectacular day! MerryLynn and I had the privilege of participating in one very fine owling by day field trip with a super group of WOS folks that turned up at Hood Park. We had a great time. Birds of note are as follows:

 

Barn Owl-3 birds

Great Horned Owl - 6

Long-eared Owl - 12

Short-eared Owl - 1

Western Screech-Owl - 1

Great Gray Owl-1in Oregon just south of Walla Walla.

TOTAL OWLS=24 BIRDS!

This was an outstanding group of folks to spend a warm late winter day with. Thank-you to all that supported this WOS field trip. 50+ degrees, sun shine and good folks and birding made all that walking worth it!!
