White Ibis

The several reports of White Ibis this winter were a first for Washington State, and probably were all of the same bird.

Ruth Sullivan got this picture of the bird which hung out for more than a week off Highway 6 in Menlo, Pacific Co., near Raymond.

This photo was taken January 15, 2001. The ibis was last reported from the Menlo site on January 21.

Field Notes

Ruth Sullivan was rewarded for the long drive to Fort Canby State Park (at the mouth of the Columbia River, near Ilwaco, Pacific) by capturing this wonderful portrait of the Mountain Plover on 12/26/2000.
