Kicking off the conference with owling trips on Thursday, a wide array of field trips will be offered. From the verdant forests of the Blue Mountains, across the passerine-filled riparian corridors, and into the rich Walla Walla delta, there should be no shortage of interesting avian species. Led by local and experienced birders, day trips will depart at 5:00 AM and owling trips will leave around 8:40 PM. The conference will feature author Jack Nisbet as the banquet speaker. Local birding expert Mike Denny will give the Friday evening presentation on Walla Walla area birds.
Early June is prime time for finding summer residents and offers the possibilities of eastern vagrants as well as interesting shorebirds. The Conference Committee wishes you a pleasant stay in Walla Walla, and of course, we hope that you see plenty of great birds!
